At one point on Sunday night, a solid 11 million people were tuned in to watch the finale of the BBC’s nail-chewingly tense crime thriller Bodyguard.
A whole bunch of them were tweeting about it, too. Just a quick glance through the #Bodyguard hashtag was enough to see just how much of an impact Jed Mercurio’s six-parter, which has recently been sold to Netflix, made.
In the run-up to the final episode, UK politicians had their priorities straight.
As the action played out, people were struggling to cope.
This is more tense than when Georgia was waiting for Josh to come back to the villa and he turned up with Kaz #bodyguard

Others, meanwhile, were picking up valuable espionage techniques.
Ultimately, the episode left a lot of people feeling shaken, but satisfied.
(Although some had a few key observations about the show’s final moments.)
How more British can you get that the final scenes in the biggest drama series in 20 years are a trip to occupational health and driving away in a Nissan. #bodyguard

David Budd put himself on the line for National Security. The amount of shit he had to deal with in a short space of time and he’s rolling around in a 10 plate Nissan Qashqai. Poor bastard #Bodyguard

Solid work, BBC.
Bodyguard is coming to Netflix on October 24, so if you’re reading this in the U.S. you’ll definitely want to mark that date in your calendar. The main character is Richard Madden, who played Robb in Game of Thrones, so what more could you ask for?
